Air Brakes Are Bleeding

It happens a lot but the key is how long does it take to bleed down? Check the glad hand for leakage if not there then go to the trailer and see if you can find something.
From the Air Brakes section of the High Road Training Program:
"With a fully-charged air system (typically 125 psi), turn off the engine, release the service brake, and time the air pressure drop. The loss rate should be less than 2 psi in 1 minute for single vehicles and less than 3 psi in 1 minute for combination vehicles. Then apply 90 psi or more with the brake pedal. After the initial pressure drop, if the air pressure falls more than 3 psi in 1 minute for single vehicles and more than 4 psi for combination vehicles, the air loss rate is too much. Check for air leaks, and repair before driving the vehicle. Otherwise, you could lose your brakes while driving."
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
Combination Vehicle:
A vehicle with two separate parts - the power unit (tractor) and the trailer. Tractor-trailers are considered combination vehicles.
Also check if your rubber gaskets in the glad hands (air hose connectors) are worn. They wear out quickly and will leak if they get dry and thinned out.
HOS:
Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
So long as your with in the dot limits and you can't mild the leak. It happens a lot my truck will loose 30 pounds over night on a hot night and 90 over night on a cold night. Everything I have had looses air over night.
DOT:
Department Of Transportation
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

hey guys, so I'm sitting at a pilot with my truck off. I noticed that my air brakes are slowly but surely losig PSI. Is this normal? I don't remember learning this in school. I already build the air back up once and it's already back down to 90 psi.
