Don't laugh.. I noticed at customer bulb burned out. Was working earlier when I drove in the dark.

How hard is it to replace the bulb of red traiker marker light. Will it just pop out or do I need some special tool. I would feel stupid to call RA and have petro do it if it just pops. But if there is some special tool or sensor on there I could screw up.don't want to try.

Thanks

I've never replaced one, but someone gave me some spares and they were the entire light unit, not just a bulb. And I think some might require a screw driver but some just pop out of their rubber gasket. I suppose it depends a lot on the make of truck.

I just replaced the side turn signal on my trailer this morning. The whole thing just popped out and unplug the wires. No tools were used, although I could see how a flat head screwdriver would come in handy to pry it out. If your light is similar,it's a piece of cake. I'm sure you have it fixed by now though.

If it has a rubber gasket, push the bulb and gasket into the hole in the trailer. It seems wrong, do it anyway. When it's pushed in, remove the light from the gasket and pull them out of the hole. Plug in new light, check for proper operations, reassemble the bulb and gasket. Then press the assembly into the hole. It took longer to type this than it takes to change the light. If it the screw in type, I don't know, I haven't had one go bad, yet.

Guess what.... it is wired in and they needed to disconnect the wires and rewire... so I dont feel so idiotic now. Lol

I picked a petro that has no shop lol... had to drive further to TA.

Just want to throw my two cents into this...

Whenever I have a situation that I think I can repair, either temporarily or permanently I inform my DM and follow-up the phone call with a freeform text confirming their authorizing me to proceed. Although I have duct tapped electrical boxes, crazy glued lenses, securing landing-gear cranks when the bracket is missing, and replaced bulbs, they always, always, always know what I am doing, and why, so there is no confusion or down-stream issues.
