Maybe that lot lizard isn't doing it for herself. She might actually be a slave for a pimp.

The awareness of sex trafficking has changed a lot since the early 1980's. Just last year, an old motor home parked at a truck stop caught the eye of trucker Kevin Kimmel.

"I saw a guy go in it, and I saw motion to the RV," Kimmel says. "And then I saw what I thought was a young girl peek out and be abruptly pulled back from the window, and the shade pulled back over it."

Kimmel called the police — and ended weeks of torture, starvation and forced prostitution for the victim.

Truckers are doing a good thing by watching out, and doing the "see something/say something" deal.

We are in a position to see a lot of "shady stuff" that goes on out there.

As far as lizards, trafficking, etc. goes. It does occur, probably more than one would think - but less than a lot of the media propose. Not everyone that is a "sex worker", was abducted, is a slave, has a pimp that beats them, etc. Stereotypical BS. Not that is DOESN'T HAPPEN EVER - just not always or as often as we might be led to believe.

A majority of "sex workers" at the street level (or truckstop parking lot level) ARE slaves - to SUBSTANCE ADDICTION. A lot of the pimps, are boyfriends that are fellow addicts.

Good heads up there Errol.

Drivers be aware - every lot lizard is not an abductee - but if you see something that particularly trips your senses, drop a dime.

On point Rick (off-topic, but if you have a chance, maybe you can update us on your progress).

Thanks Errol, great post!

Sure there are those who take that profession by choice. But the idea here is to help the ones who get sucked into it.

The story through the link starts with a young girl who is a bit lost, gets a ride (you know how that goes!) and is kidnapped into prostitution. The ones caught up in it may not see a way out without your outside help.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
