Wow thank you G-Town and Heavy C! I appreciate hearing from seasoned vets! Will definitely prepare myself for mistakes. Thanks again for your kind words!

I 100% agree with G-Town. I love being challenged and every day is a new adventure out here! Whether it's figuring out how I'm going to get into a certain door or figuring out why my truck is making a noise and how to fix it, every day is something new. Not always a good day, but I end the day knowing that I have learned something that will benefit me someday!

Do truckers still communicate with each other like the old days with CB? My trucking experience is limited to Smokey and the Bandit movies lol so I have no clue how things are in reality.

This is amazing to see I'm embarking on my trucking career in December and I'm super excited as well at my job I am a washer fueler at Salem and whenever I drive the trucks I sometimes hear cb rambos Haha lol most of It is terrible but sometimes you get some funny guys on who aren't mad at the world 🌍 all in all its a great tool to have from what I heard. Blessings to you on your journey. Hope to see you out there!!

The cb isn't used by many anymore. Unfortunately the people that do use it are usually ignorant and not very friendly. Add to that, that a lot of companies/trucks don't even have them equipped. I know at old dominion doesn't put them in the trucks. My company only has them in a couple of trucks.

I will occasionally turn it on during heavy traffic to find out what's going on ahead. I've has someone start telling me what's happening then someone else chime in and tell us to quit whining. I've found it's not usually worth it to even bother most times.

Ya know, many apps will give you what you need instead of calling on the radio. Google maps gives you an advanced warning, there's Waze and INRIX, and others. You just don't get that CB personal touch.

Thanks Maurice! Perhaps you will!

I was actually wondering about apps and technology in general as well. Does anyone use backup cams/ rear view cams like that on a bus? And whats a good gps to look at , or would a cheap android tablet suffice?
