Just wondering which you like best? I had a Coleman 40 qt that went out on me after about a day and a half, so I picked up the igloo 40 qt as a replacement. I'm not sure, but seems like the Coleman got a little colder than the igloo, but I'm not sure, might just be my imagination.

There is also another brand I haven't tried, starts with a K, but don't remember the name

My husband had the same problem with the coleman 40. We discovered there is a fuse inside the plug (unscrew the tip of plug and you will find hte fuse). Replaced this with a 10amp fuse and has been working like a champ ever since. Hope this helps.

I have a Coleman. I purchased it at Walmart $88.00 and it works well. I used the igloo for a while and it worked well too. 2 or 3 years ago there was a problem with the manufacturers power plug getting hot and melting. It wasn't substantial to handle the 10 amps so the fix was to replace it with a 12 volt plug that would handle the load. If your plug is running hot, you might want to consider replacing the plug. Another tip on using this type of cooler is to place it in front on the seat or floor if it will fit and let it get its air intake from the front window which is cooler than in the back inside the cabinet. The way it works is that it cools to 40 degrees F. cooler than the ambient air temperature so the window air should be a bit cooler in a back cabinet. My only concern was battery drain if I were to sit too long.

I had the Coleman 40 qt it lasted about 6-weeks. Picked up a 24-qt Koolatron from Pilot with my points. Not as big as Coleman, but it keeps things ice cold and has lasted over a year and is still working.

I'll stick with the igloo this time around. Hoping when I get my own truck that it has a slot for a mini fridge. Then I may look into that.

Coleman is real good with their 1 year warranty. You email some photos and they send you a new one. I have two that don't work in my garage, and ride with #3 right now.

I'm planning to replace the fan or fuse, then I'll have at least three!

I have the Igloo 28 Qt. I use it for perishable food only. I have another 28 Qt. Igloo (non electric) that I use for bottled water and soft drinks. I buy a bag of ice every other day. You can keep the TE cooler plugged in 24/7. It will not drain the batteries, yes that is plural on purpose. Your Truck has 4 of them!

I have a Koolatron that I am happy with. I think it's a 40 qt. Might be as little as 30ish. I bought it for it's outside dimensions, not it's capacity. I wanted it to fit in front of the passenger seat, tight enough that I could prevent it from moving by pulling the passenger seat forward. It's been running no problem for as long as I've been driving solo. Somewhere around six months now.
