Automatic Or Manual

Thanks to everyone who chimed in. Definitely feel a bit better now. I guess going into my first winter in an automatic is a plus for now. Hopefully God willing I will one day be back in a manual. Kinda started to like being in control. But you can't have everything your way especially when I'm just a beginner right? So imma just take it on the chin and focus on learning and understanding everything else for the meantime. Time will come when I learn more about a manual. ✌🏼️

My wife doesn't know how to drive a manual so for that reason alone I would want an automatic myself.

They will teach her how to drive a manual...

Manuals are better for backing. Much better control.

When you ever go back to a manual, it will be rough but doable and shifting will get decent again fairly quick.. A week or so.

That first week was h3ll for me because my codriver is a perfectionist and 9 months ago was my company trainer lol. He gave me so much crap over my rough shifting the first week we began teaming. He couldnt seem to comprehend the difficulty i had switching between auto to manual as a rookie without years of experience like he has.

The company insisted we keep his training truck since it was a 2016 and because they asked if he would be willing to train temporarily if they needed him. If that happens ill have to run solo again while he trains. Solo is no problem but i sure wouldnt appreciate having to move all my stuff out of our truck so they better find him another training truck haha.
