Cladding would be some kind of a protective liner in the tanker, I'd guess. Like to prevent corrosion maybe.
Think vinyl clad windows, or a knight clad in armor

Spot on Turtle. ⭐️
It's a protective coating/liner on the interior to prevent corrosives (acid) from damaging the tank.
Just remember cladding is for corrosion. They both start with "C". Other than that tanker is all about Surge. Baffles reduce surge, food grade can't have baffles. Go slow and smooth. I think that about covers tankers, lol.
You guys are just "awesome sauce" . . . thank you !

Odd. I don't have tanker certification, but baffles are clearly to prevent center of gravity shifts due to load sloshing. Baffles that were part of the inside of the tank would also, clearly, have a high probability of catching and holding food in corners, which would create contamination unless a LOT of time were spent cleaning them, at significant cost of money and time.
Nobody has figured out how to make removable baffles, so food grade tankers can be safer on the road, and be easily cleanable? Baffles don't have to be tightly sealed to prevent rapid center of gravity shifts.

So Im cruising the VA state cdl test for tankers and run across a question about "cladding". What in the world? This is the 1st time of hearing about it let alone knowing what it is or what it does . . . . Help??
