Does Schneider Let Their Drivers Take The Truck Home?

I'm interested in becoming a driver at Schneider but the closest terminal to me is 308 miles. If I do become a driver with Schneider would they allow me to take the truck home with me? Thanks.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Where do you live and if there is a truckstop nearby I would imagine you would park at the truckstop. Other possibility is delivering to a customer nearby then bobtailing home. If anything call a recruiter and ask.

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

I live in upstate NY and I live in the country so I would be able to park the truck right next to my house. And thanks for the answer I appreciate it.

Chris; generally yes. However, make sure to check with your recruiter. If you're slip-seating (not always in the same truck) this may not apply.

OTR shouldn't be a problem taking your truck home.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Some companies may not let you take the truck "home" but there may be a nearby lot/yard/business that your company is allowed to use as a drop lot. For example. There is a truck tire place near the industrial park where I live. They are gated. Several companies have gained permission to use them as a drop lot. Over the weekend you will see trucks from several different companies parked there.
