So I had to be the bigger man the other night pulled into my fuel stop and was just going to park there were a good 8-10 spots left no big deal rifht? Wrong apperantlly there was another truck that didn't use g.o.a.l. and hit another drivers mirror trying to back in well I pulled in after the fact the cops were there dong there thing and the truck that hot the other guys mirror was sitting there and then there was another driver sitting behind him waiting for what I don't know because he could have drove around him like I did but didn't for what ever reason so I went around both of them and turned my hazard lights on and was about to back into a spot at the end of the lot when I look into my mirror I see this other driver running up to my truck so I rolled down my window to see what he wanted and he proceeded to tell me you need to wait your fffffiiiin turn blah blah blah and where I was sitting there was 2- 3 spots also he could have pulled in so I almost lost it on him but then took a deep breath and said you know what this guy ain't worth it went and got fuel and left I didn't even stay there which I was just gonna park for the night get up when my 10hr break was over get my fuel and continue on my way after that I said screw this turned around got fuel and left what a idiot.

he proceeded to tell me you need to wait your fffffiiiin turn

Did you ask him why he wasn't taking his turn? What was he waiting on?

Sometimes the best approach is to just be kind and polite, stand your ground, but don't inflame the situation.

Some of these guys out here have just become so bitter over the years, they'll look for anything to gripe about, and everything is about them. Just have to try and reason with them and explain, or risk having an uproar on your hands, in which case, be ready to defend yourself.

All very true indeed.

You're a bigger man than me... I woulda backed in anyway then offered to spot him while he backed in next to me. If he tried to block me by standing behind me...well, the cops were there, right?

Sometimes I'm a real witch. I was doing a straight back but still very new...this guy saw me backing up and he swung around and blindsided into my spot. I proceeded to back up. He just laughed throwing up his hands. It was a corner spot, so I basically parallel parked against the curb but in front of him so he couldn't get out.

I grabbed my shower bag and jumped out. He blew his horn at me telling me he was only taking a 30 min. I said "oh...what a shame. I just shut down for the night. I need to eat and shower now. Enjoy your break". He blew his horn again. And I asked him if he wanted to give up the spot and park in front of me parallel. That changed his mind.

Other times when I was backing up and nasty guys blew their horns I set my brakes and they just have to wait.

Basically...don't let other drivers push you around or affect you. But on the other hand...that could have been a really new driver who was scared to back in and felt pressured when you drove up. You being there could have limited his range. Who knows.

If people are nice I'm nice. If someone is ornery I'm a witch. I can't help it. But then I do a really good pre trip in case they retaliate lol
