This is our family vacation since my son was born. He will be two this year and we are all getting excited.

I got a free registration a few weeks ago to it. Trying to see if I can swing the time off, and get a place to stay that's not clear across the state.

MATS is supposed to be one of the better ones. Along with GATS which I keep promising myself I'm going to get to every year.

Gats?.I haven't heard of that one. I.Can tell you were reserved our hotel the other night we didn't get to until late this year and unfortunately price reflects that. They fill up quick and get less affordable. Its a great show you have to be interested in more than just a show truck you have to enjoy the industry to really appreciate it. They also have some nice trucks.

Do you mean Mid America truck show?

Hubby and I are already registered and I'm getting ready to submit the hometime request for it. We will be there for all three days so any Truthers going let me know and we will definitely meet up for lunch or something.

GATS is the Great American Truck Show, held in Dallas around the end of August. Again, hubby and I are planning to be there for all three days.

Love going to these truck shows! I've met awesome people, made some excellent friends and just had an amazing time wandering around

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Just registered, this will be my first 13h-long solo car drive in the US, and my first ever truck show...

Oh yeah the truck parking is a show in itself. Basically a bunch of people just getting together to hang out and talk about anything and everything trucking!

Last year at GATS they had free BBQ one night at the truck parking, live music and games. It was a blast!
