Thanks guys!!

I got my student driver clearance card today, so I will be touring the millinium building tomorrow morning! So excited! I have my final Sims class tonight at 2130 to 2345. I just had a trainer call me a few minutes ago. She wants to meet up at 1930, I'm getting so nervous! It's becoming so real! I will be in a truck very very soon! What?? A few months ago this was only a thought in my head. So crazy!

Haha yeah it's getting very real very quick! You nailed it though, one minute it's just a thought in your head and the next you're actually they're doing it. Quite possible that you'll be in a truck tomorrow. Don't let it get you too nervous though. Nuttin to it!

Speaking of tomorrow, Friday morning breakfast at the Millennium Building is free fyi if ya didn't know already. Just be there by 0800 for the safety meeting. Robert Lowe is usually there, and he's very approachable. Filthy Rich, but approachable lol

Keep on rockin it!!

Ok so Friday 3/10/2017

As I said yesterday I met with a trainer. The minute we started talking j knew I wanted her to be my trainer. She has 8years accident free, 1 million safe miles, very thorough and very patient. We chatted for a long time and then she was like "oh man I was supposed to met with one other girl, let me calm her and tell her it will be another 10 minutes." She called and we chatted for another 20-25 minutes. So I was feeling pretty good about her choosing me. But then a while later I walk by her chatting it up with the other girl. I thought to myself "oh man, this will be a battle" the next day at the millennium building we go up to each other and both start talking about how badly we want her to train us. We get out to the practice pad she walks up to us and says " I have to go with Kori" wooooooo I wanted to jump up and dance all around the pad.

We walk up to her new truck she just got. 2017 international prostar. She was still in the process of switching everything from her old truck. We open up the hood to do a lee trip... we both look at each other "uhhh what are we looking at?" Everything thing was in a completely different spot. So we basically learned the pre trip together. Her truck is an automatic so I hop in someone else's truck that has a manual and go around the pad a few times. Felt so good to be behind the wheel of a real truck! He said I did well. And even did some downshifting. He even tried stealing me from my trainer. Then he told me that if I wanted a different trainer for the TNT phase to give him a call. So that's cool to have some options out there. But I think I'll be very happy with my trainer. I want to learn as much as possible before I'm out on my own and I think she will be able to do that for me.

Then we grabbed another manual truck, one of my buddies I met here tagged along with me and my trainer and we hooked up to a trailer and did some backing. She said she was very impressed. She made me feel really good about the things I was doing right. It was pretty cool! She was very good at explaining things she wanted me to do and why she wanted me to do it. She would show me and then leg me do it. Love that way of teaching! Of all goes well with her transferring everything from her truck we could be out on Sunday with a load. Woooo so so excited!!

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.

The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Oh yay!! That's so cool. So many come back and they aren't even close to ready. Are you staying with your trainer for TNT as well?
