I was driving Georgia Pacific dedicated for Swift last year. Regional from Texas/ Oklahoma to Virgina/ Florida. Went to many of the same places, mostly GP mills, plus some other GP related runs. Enough familiarity so that I knew where I was going and how each shipper worked, and enough new places to keep it interesting.
Yes, I often delivered to Walmart DCs. You'll ace those stops, Gladhand!
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

Definitely! I must say I got better at angle backing the reefer into those spots at the DC. Considering doing reefer OTR if I am able to. Riding US550 in NM has me wanting to go to Salt LAKE city everyday I am driving it haha.
Are you doing shuttle now?

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
A refrigerated trailer.

Yup. I need to be home daily for a while.
I been enjoying the Walmart dedicated account, but since last week the itch to drive OTR came back. Something about being in new places all the time was enjoyable and taking that away for the month kind of makes me miss it. Thinking about leaving surge and going back on the road once again.
Definitely an eye opener though. Going to look into dedicated otr opportunities in the future. Had looked at Miller coors before, but still on the fence about them because they don't do much west states.
I'd recommend sanitizing the toilet seats before you potty. Also, Goldbond Medicated Powder will also relieve some itches. ;)

This is why I like big companies. We can switch around and make changes all we want! Going from OTR to dedicated or swapping devisions is no big deal
