Make a photocopy of it; it's not accepted as genuine but it sure made me feel a lot better to have a copy of it. Of course, I paid for two official copies and kept them in separate locations... good thing too as I can only find one now.

I will be going up to finish getting my license and then driving back home to put it in the locked file cabinet. A couple hours in each direction, but I do not want it on me or in the truck if I do not need it. Fist pay check I will be ordering a second copy and doing just that. I will also be applying for my passport card during my first home time.

Awesome news Big-T...! Best of luck going forward.

Thanks G-Town. I owe you a cup of coffee when I get up that way.

I just finished my (hopefully) last shift at the pizza shop. My car is packed and ready to roll.

I'll be pulling out around 0400 to head to the school so I'm there when the director gets there in the morning. Hopefully I'll be at the DMV shortly after they open at 0700.

Provided there are no more SNAFUs I'll then be heading to the terminal to meet with my driver development leader and get set up with my mentor.

Now if I could just get to sleep that would be great.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
