The fun ones are when you are driving in the snow and someone loses a set of chains.

I drove over donner this year and it was chains over half of it. The snow was pretty much melted but I hadn't hit the chain removal area yet. Well, someone, or a couple different people lost 3 sets of chains. I tried to straddle them, but sure enough, I ended up with a good 1" wide chain link embedded in one of my tires. Lol.

I've found screws, nails, rocks all embedded in my tires. I just grab my needle nose and yank them out. I'm waiting for the day when I do that, and I hear "psshhhhhhhh". 😆

I hate to bring the L word into this but imagine being a lease operator. Trust me, you'll develop an eagle eye for spotting nails on the ground!

Sambo, CA LOVES enforcing maximum chain restrictions when there's hardly any snow on the ground. Everytime it even hints of snowing they have the biggest knee-jerk reaction to it.

Oregon is notorious for that too. Quarter mile stretch of snow/ice yet they have you run it for 10 miles. I 84 ends up looking like a chain graveyard.

What I don't understand is why the heck don't they clean those magnetic bars off more. I look at them all the time and there is usually enough metal hanging on them to make a new tractor, lol.confused.gif

Because it is a major effort to remove all those metal bits. You can't just wipe it off. You either need a much more powerful magnet (not likely), or you pick each piece off individually, usually with a needle nose pliers. And then you end up with magnetized pliers that have a bunch of little metal bits stuck to them. Way too much effort for not much accomplished.

When your yard dog starts losing traction on the back wheels just cut off the too heavy magnetized bar and install a new one.
