Do any of you have experience using a TV antenna inside your truck....as opposed to the one that is already wired in? I bought the Clear TV amplified indoor antenna, and while I can get more channels, I have a lot of trouble getting a signal to hold for any length of time. Thought or ideas? I have Direct TV service at home and had thought about putting a dish on my truck, but I am not sure I can afford to do that right now,

Hey Kat..did u know prime offers a fleet program so you don't have to

buy the satellite? You pay for install and they do a weekly deduction of like $22 for the service.

Can't help with the antenna tho

Yep...but that's $88 a month plus installation. I think a Direct TV add on to my home service would be cheaper. I don't watch much tv being out here. I just recently put my tv and DVD player on the truck, and I brought along a selection of DVDs. Just thought I'd give "free" tv a shot. LOL

Not sure what that is..... confused.gif

Wow that's high for DirecTv in a truck. Ours is only like $40/month at my company.

My trainer had some kind of TV antenna that he rigged up to quickly attach to an expansion pole. He had some way of quickly mounting it and taking it down. He had the wire around and in the passenger side door. The hole thing stored in the driver's side under bunk door. Just be creative.

I have no experience with that antenna or anything but the one wired in to the truck, but anyway, does that antenna plug in to power? If so, does it have a light to tell if it's getting power? What happens exactly, does the signal go in and out constantly?

Where are you mounting said antenna? If it's suction cupped to windshield or door Windows, could be that it's not up high enough and gets nocked out everytime a teuck passes by... id try getting it up hogher, maybe suction cup ot to the outside roof of truck...

The antenna does plug into a power source. Has no light though. As far as the signal, it will be strong at first, then the sound will go out, the picture starts going out....getting pixelated(?) and then the screen goes dark with "no signal" message showing. A minute later the cycle repeats. I tried putting it in the window as recommended. The directions say not to put it outside, but you might have a point about trucks breaking the signal. Hadn't thought of that. Might just take it back and get a refund.
