Question I keep buying deer Whistlers and for some unknown reason someone keeps tearing them off my truck. Is there a reason for this I am unknown too or are the deer responsible for this dasterdly deed? Just curious

Cheap plastic from China that that can't take UV, JMHO! Unless they are made from a different material, than that just makes me the Fool

Attach them to the top of your truck out of reach of deer or vandals.

Wind+vibrations+cheap Chinese adhesive = lost deer whistlers.

Whether it's vandals or the adhesive, consider an electronic deer whistle... they are lower profile and appear to have a more secure mounting system.

well I would generally agree but for the fact that the Whistlers were brand and they disappeared in a truck stop terminal once at home terminal and once at a truck stop in California. But undaunted I will attempt again and may clean living prevail

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

SAP:

Substance Abuse Professional

The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.

I thought I saw at least one model that had holes in the base, for little screws? Maybe they'd last longer if screwed down.

Why would you want to whistle at deer? Does having them stop and look at you help not hitting them?

/sarcasm off.

Pretty sure these were debunked years ago. Deer tend to freeze at noises not run. Sound also travels at the same speed. So if the sound of your vehicle or horn isn't enough to spook them off the road an extra ultrasonic noise isn't going to help much.

Growing up in a deer infested area, some say they're useless, I think they work. Antwho.. mounting up higher as someone suggested might help. I've heard deer are afraid of ladders.

I really dislike deer or other drivers with sticky hooves and .fingers. We have a terminal like that too. If it's not locked down some @$$ local driver will steal it and I seriously mean that. At that location they have absolutely no shame... Just pitiful. The whole vibe at that terminal, it's obvious those drivers just don't care. Their trucks are all nasty on the inside, they ignore policies, and are inconsiderate over all.. a few nice ones but very few. I won't even leave my truck unlocked there to walk 20 ft to a dumpster. Luckily our other terminals are ok.
