I got accepted to Join their team with my new CDL as a Student Driver. Was just curious which location should I go to Rockwell TX or Olathe KS? Any big differences besides ones the main location?
Olathe KS is their corporate headquarters and their satellite terminal is in Rockwall TX. Trans AM was one of the companies I drove for back when I still had my TX CDL. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have about them. Also if she can find the time, ChickieMonster on here drove for them also but she was with them longer than I was so she could give you a better insight about them than I can however I am glad to help any way that I can.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Search on ChickieMonster by using the search bar in the upper left hand corner. She spent the beginning of her career driving for TransAm. Considering the subject line, she'll likely see it and offer you some additional insight...
Good luck!
Hey!
They most likely won't give you a choice and put you out of Olathe unless you live in or near Texas.
Rockwell has a secondary fleet of white trucks that only run Texas.
I drove for them for 6 months and only went to Rockwall twice, once being for hometime in Dallas.
And honestly you'll do better out of Olathe. It's a much much larger terminal and all the major offices are there.

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Just gimme a shout if you have any questions. I'll keep an eye on this thread.
