I am starting my 3rd week of school, can I still get sent home? I let them know everything and such. Just had to do another signature on a background check, and it made me wonder.

If you look at your fine print, you can be sent home any time. But chill. You've come to the right place for answers.

First, it sounds like you're in a company school. Which company?

Second, what keeps you up at night?

Welcome to Trucking Truth, where you will get the Straight Dope without any "hate". This is a place you can air your problems and get solid answers. Use the search bar (top left) and put in your problem. You'll probably see some decent support.

All big companies rerun your background and DMV checks once you get there. You may have to sign a whole new application. It is due to the time that passes from your apply date to hire date. For me it was over a month from the time I filled out the application and they did their initial, thorough background check to my hire date. I had to redo sign everything because the application was only good for 30 days. It was no biggie. The only reason to worry is if their is a felony or DUI in your past that you didn't disclose before. Sometimes that won't matter as long as you can explain it. Otherwise, they'll just get the same info twice. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

DUI:

Driving Under the Influence

John lack of disclosure is the only issue that could cause a problem for you. Background or driving record. If you were totally up front and honest with the application, then stop worrying. If you weren't, I'd speak-up now...
