That's completely unacceptable. Not only was he putting his life at risk, but the other people on the interstate. That really burns me up

Yeah I was shocked at this guy. I have noticied more and more trucks parking on ramps, which I will never do because personally I think its too unsafe, but this was a first for me. I sure hope it doesn’t become a trend. It’ll get someone killed
I've heard of this happening before.

I came out of Mobile Al this morning heading up I-65 and encountered something I never would have guessed. It was very early about 0545 and this stretch of road has several exits far apart. I saw a semi on the side of the road with his triangles out. It was about 3 miles from the previous exit, and I knew the next exit was about 10 miles or so. No traffic to speak of. I pulled over just in front of the truck and walked back to it to see if the driver needed a hand. The driver said he had just got up, and he was okay. I was kinda suprised by his response and couldn’t help myself. I asked what he meant by just got up. Without blinking an eye he said he ran out of hours and pulled over for his 10 hr break he now has to take. He went on to say he was afraid law enforcement may not like him parking there so he put his triangles out to hopefully keep them from asking too many questions if they saw him there. I stood there in shock at his remarks. Then he asked me why I stopped. I told him because most cell service in that area is very poor, and I thought he may need a hand. He told me I should not concern myself like that, it wasn’t safe. I just walked away shaking my head. I share this so new drivers or people looking to enter trucking can see that there are stupid people out here in trucks, and never put your safety at risk by doing something like this.
