I was in cedar rapids today, and will be back tomorrow... ....so I *should* be around tomorrow unless my DM has other ideas.

Wow! Talk about timing... Well, if we can arrange it, maybe we could all get together to meet. That would be pretty neat, but I suppose it just depends on timing.

I sure hope we can make that work. I would so love that. 😁

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Ditto for me. Not sure of too many other ways to get in touch.

When you get officially hired on after Orientation don't forget to change your status on here to Company Driver In Training.

Congratulations, Jeremy! I'm very happy for you. Please keep us updated on your progress. I'm on my phone and not sure how to send you some dancing bananas. If I could, I would.

All the best, Colin K.

I'm here at the terminal getting my truck serviced...

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Yikes! I should have checked here earlier. After orientation I went down to my room and fell out for about two hours. Up late last night celebrating with fellow students and very boring day signing paperwork all day.

Thinking about hiking over there to see if you're still there. Sort of a gamble with this heat...

It's just too hot to walk over there and possibly have to walk back a minute later (I don't even know where to go or look and I hope somebody wouldn't just help a stranger that showed up looking for a woman there.)

We need a better way to communicate with each other here, even if its only moderators that can access it.

Definitely my loss. But at least I got to meet MillionMiler. That was really awesome!
