I met Jeremy earlier.

Yup! That was really awesome! Posted that in my diary. Been looking forward to that moment since before I left home. Very awesome!

Susan, if you're ever in the neighborhood within the next week or so, and got a few minutes free, we could always grab a coffee or lunch. Actually, maybe a late lunch. Have orientation scheduled the next few days.

After that no clue how long before they set me up and send me off. Looking forward to that!

So grateful for this website and it's community!

I was in cedar rapids today, and will be back tomorrow. W ran a load to Minneapolis from NC and stopped by our south st Paul terminal so my trainee could drive another truck back to our terminal.. basically did 2 empty trailer moves for the mill, using the extra truck. My trainee is supposed to test out this week so we are doing a quick run to Indy, a delivery in cedar falls, then back to the terminal to drop her off. My truck is also due for service so I *should* be around tomorrow unless my DM has other ideas.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Wow! Talk about timing... Well, if we can arrange it, maybe we could all get together to meet. That would be pretty neat, but I suppose it just depends on timing.
