I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all here on TT and God's blessings in the coming year. I am so glad I found this site. It is truly a great place to learn about trucking and talk with good people in the industry. Without this site, I am not so sure I would even be going into trucking. But I know I will make it with this site and its members' support and encouragement.

God Bless you all! Have a very Merry Christmas! Be safe out there.

To all the drivers who will not be home. I will say a special prayer for you. Know that God is taking care of your family and that they are dreaming and praying of and for you. I just have these beautiful pictures in my mind and heart of what is in store for you when you get home. Thank you for what you are doing for us all this Christmas season. Prayers for traveling mercies.

May the joy of Christmas fill your heart this year and continue through the rest of your life.

A Christmas Blessing to all my friends at Trucking Truth:

May the road rise before you in a gentle slope, May your dispatcher be awesome and not just a dope.

May your travels be safe, your showers nice and clean, May your home-time be often, both warm and serene.

May the angels hold your truck on the road when there's ice, May your paychecks be so fat it seems they paid you twice.

May your receiving clerks get for Christmas their two front teeth, May you always be shiny side up with the rubber beneath.

The truth will set you free, so it says in a great book, You'll find it at Trucking Truth.com if only you'll look.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good ride, You just can't go wrong when the truth is on your side!

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I wish to express my thanks for all the rookies in school, out on the road with a trainer, or solo in your own truck, or teaming...You are the next generation of trucker...I know that you have learned from your school and trainer..and I hope that we at TT have taught you to be respectfull of yourself and others. You will be treated as you treat others...So with that...go out there and shout Merry Christmas to every trucker, cashier, shipper , receiver, waitress or just joe in a 4 wheeler...Everyone deserves to know that theres people out there that care...

Stay safe, be smart, know when you have hit your limit... Prayers for all who will be on the road over this Christmas. know that we are proud of you, and know how it is to be out there and not with family.

Ya'll are my Hero's !

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
