After racing my clock all weekend, there was no way to make my appointment at 7:30 this morning. In fact, even without the live unload that put me behind all weekend, I wouldn’t have been able to make it. There simply wasn’t enough hours to get there. How do the load planners/dispatchers not know that?

Anyway, I had a nice leisurely drive from Silver Creek NY TO Smithton PA for my appointment tomorrow morning.

1500 miles/41.4 hours since Friday at 3 PM. Not a bad week so far.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
