Well I been on the road with my teammate since Dec. 09 2013 and I think I am ready to try and go solo. this will be fun but scary at the same time, I still have issues with my backings but am getting better at it.

I have not been home since OCT. so I thought before I go solo I'd take a few days off and spend time with my boyfriend.

Sorry I have not been on the site much I have been so busy with my runs and once my shift is up I am so tired all I want to do is shower and sleep.

hope everyone is doing good! I will keep you all posted on my journey of being a solo driver!

Huge congrats on the next step. It sounds very exciting . How many miles did you log with the trainer in the passenger seat before deciding ?

Thank you!! I am excited about this decision I am making, I wasn't with my trainer when I decided. I was with my teammate. and we were averaging just under 5,000 had a ton of good runs. we are just now starting to hit a lot of dead zones.

That's some good news Amanda. It's nice to hear from you, and I hope things just keep on getting better and better for you. We appreciate you updating us, sometimes folks just disappear on us and we don't know what happened to them. Usually it's just that they are enjoying their career and they don't have time for us anymore.

Hey congrats Amanda! That's awesome! Everyone is quite worked up when it comes time to go solo. You're excited as can be because you'd rather jump off a bridge than have to share that truck one more day. But at the same time it sure is nice to have someone to talk with, share experiences with, and most importantly to work through tough situations with.

But you'll do great - no doubt!

Keep us updated!

Hey all thank you so much I am very excited about this choice I made.

I just got settled in my new truck and am ready to go. I am very nervous. thank you again I will definitely be keeping you all posted even if it takes a while to get on here, since I don't have a charger for my comp. I charge it at pilots and terminals also hotels.

my pta is set for 8 am tomorrow but our terminal is so full I have a feeling I will not get dispatched tomorrow.

will see what happens

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
