I'm heading to pittston. Should be there between 1800 and 1900. Let me know if you will be at the terminal.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I'll be there.

I expect to be there around 1730, but I have to take my student out for some seat time with an empty. So I'll be around at some point after that, probably closer to 1900. If we can all meet up before the cafeteria closes, dinner is on me.

I can even do chow before taking the student out. It'll hinge on when RD can get there. Try to give an updated ETA when you get a chance. I'm flexible, but the earliest I can be there is still 1730.

And SS, I have some wide edge protectors I've been trying to pawn off on...er.... I mean give away to someone. :) Seriously, they've been tucked away untouched in my headache rack for over a year. I have more than I need. They are yours if you want them. Remind me later.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Oh my. I will certainly not forget to remind you of those edge protectors taking all that space up and adding unnecessary weight to your truck. I will happily assist you in removing them from your truck. Thank you.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I'm parked on the row closest to the chow hall entrance. I'm gonna just be hanging out checking this thread so y'all keep updating as you need to and I'll be ready when you arrive.

I'm about 85 miles out. Eta is looking like 1800. I'll post when I arrive.

Cool, that'll give me time to get squared away and grab a shower before chow. We'll meet up in the mess hall 1800ish or when RD gets there. I put my student off until 7 so there's no rush.
