Congratulations Stevo!
Ok fast track lol got license Friday...And by the time I got back to the dorms/terminal ,I as ,well as a bunch of others ,were already being set up for rental cars to go meet our trainers... Some off to various spots in Texas, Oklahoma City...
Originally I was going to OKC but got changed to Phoenix. But on the way there, my trainer called he had just left OKC for Phoenix...So I drove out to Albuquerque NM to meet up instead... That way the whiner with me didn't have to drive alone all the way to OKC lol ( dumno if he will even last in a team truck)
So far my trainers cool we get along he gave me plenty of space for what little I brought.....Got some downhill and jake brake experience driving thru Flagstaffs mountains....I did drive soon as we met up since he had just 1 hour or so on his clock....
340 miles not too bad. I did need couple quick breaks since I had not really had much sleep Friday as I drove 9 hours from the terminal.....I figured it was good to start learning to do long drive times.....
Now here we sit in Tolleson, Az. Without a load assignment yet, looks like not until tomorrow...Trainer couldn't locate 1, even since he is lease op .... Love's is quite full as well. Nothing out of the area , it figures its Sunday lol.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Way to go, DRIVER!
Sounds like you will have time to post some "Postcards From the Road!"
Congrats!! Be safe, ask a lot of questions and learn as much as possible from your trainer.
