A third of your time during your 3-weeks of Swift school will be studying and conducting the Pre-Trip Inspection...this might help you prepare for that and can be used once you begin the hands-on inspection on a truck. It's also a third of your CDL test...so knowing this "cold" is really important.
Wow, advice...so much can be said...and so much you can read. Try to relax, prepare yourself to be challenged every day of your Swift Academy life. Listen to understand, not necessarily to respond. And above all else...take advantage of every opportunity to practice, study and observe others; not letting the "highs" get you "too high", and the "lows" get you 'too low".

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

I'm headed to west valley Utah I've got a little experience through my army career in the national gaurd and ita coming to an end after 23 years so I figured since I got furloughed from union pacific it was time for a change and driving seemed like a good fit
