I met my new student today. Luckily we get along great.
After cruising around the yard for a bit we hooked up to a trailer and hit the road for a couple hours. He performed phenomenally well! After that I had him practice some basic straight backing. He's a natural. He kept it in between the lines on his first try and several subsequent attempts. He is a couple years older than me but, it was great to see him smiling like a kid when we got out on the road. He said, with childlike exuberance , "I cant believe I'm actually doing this. This is so f**king awesome!"
Well, here's hoping things continue to go well. In about two weeks (hopefully) he should be testing for his CDL...
