Got a question. Is it okay for a mentor to smack a mentee in the back for assuming he wasnt doing what he asked? I am over my over sensitivity and I promise today I did my absolute best and Guess what?! The day so far has gone absolutely great except when the truck hit the brakes automatically he assumed I was and smacked me in the back for it, cause he did not want me to slow down. I was getting close to others so I wanted to back off but the truck decided to do it for me apparently.

Im learning though through your advice to mostly just bear through it and learn not be taught but learn what I can and you would be so proud of me cause I reminded myself that when I was having a pity party inside. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜.

Somewhere up above I read where YOU are driving the truck. If the collision avoidance system activated and hit the brakes then you were following to closely. I would have smacked you also....but for a different reason.

As said previously....you are driving the truck.

Also, tell him to keep his hands to himself. Itā€™s not okay. My instructor used to hit me with his ball cap on the shoulder cause I was screwing up my downshift....it was done as a way to relax me. It worked.

Just keep remembering the end game Victor. You donā€™t have many options left. Grin and bare it. Get through it.

Victor,

First of all, how is he hitting you? Is he joking around or just saying ā€œcome one manā€ or is he hitting you out of anger? I very seriously doubt heā€™s hitting you out of anger. From an outsider it just seems like you are looking for reasons to get off of his truck or to go back home. Itā€™s really a bad look for you. If you want this just suck it up for a couple of weeks and get through it. If heā€™s ā€œassaultingā€ you out of anger you would have already called his manager or gotten of his truck.

Things are going WAY better with the new mentor Jose, cause he is patient, he explains things very well, he helps like with showers, and he gives good advice. I have gotten lots of driving in too. Last night I did 9 hours and 25 minutes with 495.7 miles. Like thats what I am talking about. I would have gotten more but the problem was traffic in Georgia lol.

That's awesome Victor keep it up. I'm glad you and your trainer are getting along well. I cant remember, is your training a set time frame or do you need to have so many hours or miles for training to be complete?

I am not totally certain. I hear from my mentor they really are more concerned with me getting my skill than my hours. Hours can amount to nothing if I dont have the skill you know. Im getting better at this. Now to fix the tired baggy eyes lolšŸ˜‚.
