What if your stuck in traffic on the freeway and are almost out of hours to drive. Haven't taken my break yet but traffic is moving about 3 mph for the last 2.5 hours.

Are you talking running out of hours needing your 30 minute break, or your 10 hour break? For your 10 hour break there is an exception for unforeseen circumstances but I think that applies only in regards to your 11/14 clock, not the 8 hour clock. I've seen trucks pull off on the shoulder to avoid a violation if traffic is at a standstill. Your only option may be to do that, or get a violation and add remarks about what happened in case you're inspected.

The truck did that but he was close to the shoulder I'm in the middle of 6 lanes. I need my 30 break. I only had to drive 27 miles but that is when I had 3 hours left. Now I have 12 minutes left. I went into personal conveyance but that was 30 minutes ago. If I could have stopped I would have. Raptor

Legally you need to stay on the Drive line. Once you get stopped for your 30 minute break, or end of the day, make an annotation on your log on what happened.
