You Know It's Been A Long, Cold Winter When...

You get up at 6:00 in the morning and go to work in nothing but jeans and a hoodie because it warmed up to 11° and anything more would cause you to sweat! Right now I'm sitting at a truck stop outside Denver and have the truck shut off and windows down because it's stuffy @ 26°... :)

You know it's been a long cold winter when......

At 5am it's a completely tolerable 7 degrees because there is no wind !

You know it's been a long winter when you can't remember what color your truck is supposed to be until a bit of rain washes the inch of salt and road scunge off.

Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration, but I did just have to spend 15 minutes scraping ice remover residue scales out of my driver's side footwell that were the thickness of high-quality paper. Not enough ways to say "ew" in all the languages of all the nations on Earth for that.
