If I had an idea to make life easier for truckers that pull doubles how would I go about getting it, I guess sanctioned is the best way to put it so it can be used by everyone..
Personally, first and foremost, I'd file for a patent. I 'invented' a convenience for a boat back in the '80s, and did a 'test market' survey type of thing...and lost my idea to a person way more savvy and savant than myself.
You could reach out to Bobcat Bob and Auggie 69'er and especially Daniel B. on here, and more I'm forgetting......
If you can keep the info / data 'vague' enough, put up a survey. . . at your own risk.
Just my 2 pennies~!

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.
Best thing to do would be file a patent.
But I would like to know more, I'll all about making life easier.

Daniel does P&D they tried giving P&D two trailers at times but they have a hard counting that high without taking their shoes off.
Local drivers that stay around their area, usually within 100 mile radius of a terminal, picking up and delivering loads.
LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers for instance will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

Lol! We do doubles everyday for drop & hooks since we never have enough 53's.

Thanks for the advice..I have had nightmares about someone stealing this idea cause honestly I can't believe nobody has thought of it before.. I run line haul so I deal with doubles every night, a van is a gift.. I could give info but it would be too easy to figure out the idea..
Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.
