What does everyone use to get accurate weather info about a place you will be going. I have the weather channel app on my phone but I didn't know if there was an inside trucking secret.

I use a combination of things. I use the Weather Channel app, the Weather Channel website itself, and I keep a list of bookmarked state road condition websites in my phone browser for states I run through frequently that are prone to nasty weather. My truck stereo is also equipped with a 7-band weather radio, so I can turn that on and get a quick real-time update on weather conditions in my surrounding area as I'm driving.

Fatsquatch pretty much covered it. When I was on the road I always had weather radar maps on the laptop. I can't begin to count how many times I was able to either shut down just before a storm hit, outrun a storm, get out of town before a storm hit, or somehow find a way to avoid it.

The CB radios with Weather Band are pretty cool. Hey, I haven't heard one of those in a while. Do they still use what sounds like the robot voice from "Lost In Space"??? What an odd voice that was.

There are three voices. One is a male voice that sounds almost human and normal. One is a female voice that's obviously computerized and sometimes pronounces things strangely, like "clOWdy." The third one is the one that announces which station you're listening to and where it's located, and sounds like Stephen Hawking.

Fatsquatch that's a great description of the voices. I get entertained just by listening to how the female voice will pronounce some things. I know, I'm pretty lame getting entertained by the weather radio!

Well let me ask you this. Our company trucks don't have cb's in them. Where's a good place to find the state radio stations that do the weather reporting. Is there a website that has a list of them?
