Man the more I learn I swear the more confused I get! Now I have a couple more companies to chooses from and added to my list. I have been reading more forum posts and now it looks like Roehl is also at the top of my list and not so much a secondary choice!! Still hoping others can offer up,some good advice especially on companies that will get me to having an income sooner.

Thanks again Anchorman for all your help so far

Roehl I would stay away from one DUI disqualifies you does not matter how long it is they only hire Saints seriously cant even have misdemeanors just go with Swift or some of the bigger OTR companies out there good luck

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

DUI:

Driving Under the Influence

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

No Christopher just because they would not hire you does not mean they hire saints. With the driver pool so large they can afford to be picky and not hire the people that made bad decisions in their past.

No one can be mad at a company if they are turned down because of something they did in the past. So let's talk about DUI/DWI since that was specifically mentioned. No one's fault but the drivers for getting one. There is never an excuse to drink and drive. Ever.

And it's not one of those things that just happens. If you drive to a bar or club and you are the only driver then you have two choices....call a cab or call a friend to come and get you. If any other choice is made then have to take what is coming to you. At the present time or in the future when your trying to get a job that requires driving.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Driving Under the Influence

DWI:

Driving While Intoxicated

Wow! I mean, they won't let people drive their trucks just because they have a criminal record and a history of driving drunk??? Wow, they must be savages!!!!

No more opinions on companies Chris. We'll handle that. Thanks.

In the meantime, Roehl happens to be a great company with one of the best home time packages in the industry. We've had a lot of people come through here and go with Roehl and we've heard a lot of great feedback on em.

I was also in the same boat. I found this website in 12/13 and read my butt off. I applied to Central, Swift, Prime Inc, and Knight Transportation. I got my CDL PERMIT in my state of Louisiana talked about all the companies with my wife and children and we choose Knight Transportation. My advice is just read as much as you can and stay away from the other website. This is my first week at Knight Transportation got my driver code yesterday and I'm still excited! Good luck to you.good-luck.gif
