CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

One day I plan on having my own truck but for now I'm getting all the experience I can. I went to work for my current employer because they supposedly will assist with training to get my class A although that hasn't happened yet...I just decided to give the test a shot to push things along.

Anyone able to recommend a good online study site? I used driving tests .org free test to obtain my class B about 2 years ago My employer wants me to get my class A and I tried using it again and there were only about 4 or 5 questions on the actual DMV test from what I studied. I don't mind paying for it if I have too...just seeing what's out there that's tried and true. Also my DMV is currently out of paper study guides but I think I do better with online material. Thanks in advance.
