Oh, and for those that wonder why trucks sometimes nose into their spots....this is the view from my windshield. Beats the hell out of another view of the parking lot. The choice to nose in was made solely because of the view. It was easy to nose in and out 34 hours from now.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Anne, I got home at 1500 today and leaving out Thursday mid-afternoon after I get my load in the morning.

That is salt near the Bonneville Flats in Utah. They harvest a lot of salt from the Great Salt Lake and nearby area.

Laura passes by this often, I think, so she has probably stopped at the same rest stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Sure looks like a snow ball, though.

Hint...it doubles as a girls name. There was a western TV show in the 50s or 60s made about a cowboy named after the state.

Hint...Birthplace of a nation.

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.
