SInce I got my CDL early this year, every truck that I was assigned was 2018 or newer. I always wanted to try driving a truck from the old days, thinking that it may have something that new trucks are missing, just as cars - my first car was a 1951, and it is definitely the best car I ever had. So finally I had a chance to drive an older truck, not too old, just older than everything I had before :-) It is a 1992 Freightliner, DD 60 engine, 8 speed. What a difference, and what a cool truck!

Its only 3 years younger than I am! The truck I learned to shift on in school was a 94. That's the oldest I've driven

The oldest at OD I've driven qas 2 weeks ago a 12 with 900k on it.. I'd like to drive one from the 70s like my grandfather did to try it out but I'll stick to newer ones.

I passed my exam in an 86 freightshaker DD with an 8 speed too, much simpler IMHO, it was a treat a nod off to the old school generation

I drive a 2003 international with a 13 speed with 800k miles on it . My old truck was a 1998 international 10 speed with a n14 in it. I like the older trucks, no def, exhaust brake sounds like a 50 cal.

I’m in school learning how to drive in a 1996 KW900, it’s a beast, but the old trucks seem to be more forgiving.
