I put myself on duty, because I figured it relates to the truck. Im in their waiting room. Is that right?

If I ain’t working, I’d be off duty. Doesn’t really matter “where” I am.

Nope. If you really want to get technical, On Duty while you are talking with them about the issue(s), then off duty. If they are going to have to drive the truck, sign out of the truck so their Driving/On Duty time is not logged under your time.

If you are on the side of the road waiting on a service truck you are on duty. If your truck is in a repair shop and you are in a driver's lounge or something like that, you are off duty. Don't burn up your clock unnecessarily.

Thank you, unfortunately my truck is off and Qualcomm powered down as the shop guys are working on it. I did put myself on duty and its been a couple hours now. I do not know when exactly the repairs will be completed, its going slow. Is my carrier able to make edits to the logs change the on duty to off duty so I can get this time back? I know they can adjust an error of sleeper berth to off duty when I forgot to log off duty to use the bathroom and take a phone call they did that for me once.

Hopefully so, if not....I done effed up lol....

Sleeper Berth:

The portion of the tractor behind the seats which acts as the "living space" for the driver. It generally contains a bed (or bunk beds), cabinets, lights, temperature control knobs, and 12 volt plugs for power.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

I bet you can edit it yourself. If you can't, your logs department can certainly do it. I would go ahead and give them a call now while your truck is in the shop. They can probably clear it up for you.

You can edit your own logs. Once you are back it the truck just change that status change from On Duty to Off Duty.
