If he has trucker employees already, why does he not ask them their needs and challenges firsthand?

I have to agree.
Nick, all we can offer is OUR perspective, the only people truly qualified to offer his employeed drivers' needs and challenges are his drivers themselves. He needs to ask THEM not us. I don't see how any of us could possibly help you or him to understand what they need or want by our experiences. I don't believe you will get any interviews or surveys answered by any of us, nor should you. If I owned a BBQ restaurant and wanted to know my employees needs and challenges would I go to Hooters and ask their employees for their input? He needs to ask his workers as their answers are the only ones that matter as they are the ones working for him and faced with the day to day challenges of working for his organization. Sorry but I don't see how we could be of much help.
Nick, don't waste your time on pseudo-scholarship. Even if you need this MA paper as a formal requirement for employment, it still makes sense to produce something that can make you satisfied if not proud. When you begin a new study, a question "Why am I doing this?" is crucial for a true scholar.
Great point - I should have elaborated. I am interviewing the truckers that he works with directly as the bulk of the research. However, there are a limited number of truckers in his network, so we thought it would be helpful to also learn about other related experiences. While he is extremely open to hearing about ways to improve, It might be pretty impactful for him to know that many truckers outside his network deal with the same problems.
There surely unique issues that his truckers deal with, and that is the focus; this survey is meant to supplement that research.

You should look up ATRI (American Transportation Research Institute). All the data you need is there.
