I have less than a year in trucking, and I almost got stuck while making a turn in a negative angle corner, because I did not saw a disabled vehicle almost at the cor er

My quick thinking saved because I’ve decide to drive over the curb in order to clear the disabled vehicle… I cleared tbe vehicle by Inches only….

After that I thought… what would happen if I could not make the turn and get stuck??

That corner is close to a expressway and for sure will create a traffic jam

In that case, The police could ticked me, or I would be into some form of saction? Or even it will show in my record?

If you drove into it and nothing has changed, you can back out of it. The exception to that would be if surrounding traffic became a factor, if you had slid or if you were hung up on something.

Now if you can't get out of the situation that you put yourself in, the solution there would be to call a wrecker to pull you out, or a rotator to pick you up and put you back on the road. Wreckers start at about $500 for a winch out and the one time I needed a rotator it was $2200/hr with a four hour minimum for just showing up.

If you are blocking traffic, you should call the police as you are now a hazard. Yes, they can cite you for impeding the flow of traffic, among other things. Even a citation in your personal vehicle will affect your CDL , so yes, it matters. Most companies would probably log it as a preventable incident unless there property damage or injury, which would then make it a preventable accident. Again, that will follow you and it does matter.

Of course, none of this matters if you pay attention and think ahead of the truck.

Be safe.

  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.

I'm not really at liberty to discuss the details of it. Suffice it to say my student driver forgot he had a trailer and cut his turn way too close to an obstruction and a ditch. I team train, so I awoke to him shouting for help.

As for my previous Avatar, that was one of those inflatable dinosaur Halloween costumes. I put it on and got on my motorcycle with the intent of picking up my son from school that way, I made it about four houses down my block before I realized it was a really bad idea. I'm sure I have it saved on my computer somewhere.
