Weird. That never happened to me if just updated me when I logged in
Kearsey,
I realized since I arrived home for the winter around Oct i until now even though I am here every day and sometimes twice a day after about 5-6 days I have to re-enter my location. When I'm traveling in the Rv I don't see this issue. Oh well I'll just keep re-entering my location unless Brett can tell me what to do.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Same advice you were given the other times you've asked about this. You at some point blocked TT from using your devices location so it doesn't update your location every time you log in. If you wish to change that to allow your location to update and using Chrome as your browser tap the 3 dots in the top right corner and select settings. Go to site settings, location, find TT and allow it. It's likely in your blocked section. If you allow TT to use your location anytime the web page loads, like logging in or even opening a different thread to read, it will update your location. Otherwise clearing your browser history and settings will also allow it to update your location automatically. I choose to manually update my location and it literally takes me 5 seconds to do.
I'm guessing the reason Brett has it fall off after a week is its pointless in most cases to keep it any longer. With an overwhelming majority of our members OTR there's no need to know where they were a week ago when they last logged in when they could be on the other side of the country. Also it just floods the map making it more difficult to find someone if you have everybody that has logged in over the course of a month or longer (which many never even join the forum). There seems to be roughly 20 to 30 people who actively participate in the conversations on a regular basis. TT tracker shows 130 that have their location updated within the last 7 days. Now imagine how much more crowded the map will get if we extend that out further.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Thanks for the help Rob T. I really wasn't aware of the simple fix as I usually do not use the "allow to track" option. I'll give it a try.

It sure gets annoying to have to constantly update your location on the GPS Tracker section here on TT. I'm sure we have discussed this before here on the forum but if you do not change your location why does it have to disappear from the screen and have to be re-entered every 5-6 days? I spend the 6 months from November to May in Florida and have to constantly update my location even though it doesn't change. It's just annoying.
