Hello fellow drivers!

I’ve decided it’s time for a change. I’ve narrowed it down to Knight Transportation and Marten. Both deals are comparable in regards to the financial side and both offer home weekly as I’ll be based out of Charlotte NC. I’m looking for feedback from any who are currently or have worked for them whether good or bad so I can make a better informed decision. Thanks in advance

Our son Michael has driven for Marten for just over 11 months and still says he "loves it."

His former team driver partner at CR England started with Marten two weeks ago after hearing Michael talk so favorably about Marten.

Michael is on a dedicated fleet with 12 days on and 2 days off but usually gets home early on his 12th day and usually leaves late morning on his 1st day. He has had 3 increases in pay since he started. If you'd like to chat with him, contact me via email that's in my profile.

Thanks Harvey. Email sent. I’m coming from flatbed, so I know it’s a different animal in dry van or reefer.

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Reefer:

A refrigerated trailer.

At marten we drive box/van, reefer or rail ! It’s a small learning curve or was for me ! Previously I’d only driven reefer.

Reefer:

A refrigerated trailer.

I've considered marten. I drive for Knight currently. I've been happy with them, others I know said it didn't work out for them. I do dry van. I haven't worked for anyone else so I don't have a comparison, but there are a lot of things about knight that have worked well for me. Some things irritate me but I have a feeling that those are endemic to the industry.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Not at this time for me, but I change my mind like the weather! I'm always thinking about greener pastures.

How is Marten working out for you so far, Energi?
