The best part for us is with our full timer insurance we have zero deductible so it is no money out of pocket just a big pain in the tush. Thank God for our winter home so we have a place to stay. I'll keep you posted.
Just an update on the repairs to our 5th wheel. The insurance adjuster's first estimate is for $3900 for initial inspection of the rear wall and floor area. We have a rear kitchen and they have to remove all the cabinets, appliances etc. to inspect the walls and floor for possible hidden damage which would drive the repair costs thru the roof. I can't believe it as it does not appear that bad.
Sorry to hear this, it is so frustrating how many crazy idiots are driving. Racing around fuel station parking lots, freeways, streets, everything. I have been making two trips into San Francisco to deliver fruit to markets for the past couple of weeks and it takes a high level of attention to avoid getting into an accident because of everyone jockeying around to save a minute off of their travel time. We've had a few accidents near our farm caused by people passing on the shoulder, some with fatalities (highway patrol estimated one of these was where the person passing on the shoulder was going 100 MPH, she and two others died). As I get older I try to be more patient, no hurry to get to the end, it's hard enough with body aches as it is.

Palomino Compass / Columbus 5th Wheel ~
Whoa!!! Darn, no WONDER you are so bummed....auuugh! That's a beauty, for sure! I'm not familiar with 5th wheel campers, but for Tom's mom's former Coachmen .... back in the days! We used to 'rent' the full campers for vacations in my younger years; and most often I was the nominated driver; 19 years old and 38 to 43'... with a car/tow carrier following with a Subaru Justy.
Was that even legal?!?! It was the 'unofficial' tour bus for the 'Music Explosion/Ohio Express' tour. No wonder I want to drive, eh?
Anyone remember that 'BubbleGum' music? My late ex's dad was the drummer: Ohio BubbleGum Days!!
I hope it all works out, y'all. Didn't realize how AWESOME those darn things are!! The 'driveable' ones we'd rent in the late '80s and '90s were nothing like that!! Now I know what I'M GONNA DO in 20 years ... LoL!
Best to y'all,
~ Anne & Tom ~
