Wow!
Do you need to report this unusual find?!?!? We hear a lot about these buggers here in Ohio, never seen one personally!!
Spotted Lanterfly Quarantine (?!?)
Please let us know; we get 'warned' here in Ohio, as well!
"Spotted lanternflies have established populations in the United States including Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio. In Ohio, Cuyahoga and Jefferson counties have confirmed populations of the invasive species."
They ARE kinda late this year; it's usually a 'MAY' thing, I thought.

I checked the quarantine map and Lancaster Pennsylvania is in the quarantine area. Prime has a spotted Lantern Fly permit which simply means that the drivers have been trained on what to do when you sse a live lanternfly or their eggs. Essentially you're supposed to kill them and destroy the eggs.
Met too Chief. This week in upstate new york I had two of them in my truck.
Never thought I would actually see one of these but here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania one lighted on my truck.
They were all over at one of our drop lots in VA, nasty little things. Your supposed to fill out a form any time your inspecting equipment in those quarantine zones. You can supposedly receive a decent fine if an officer ask for them and you can’t produce them.
I have a stack in my permit binder but rarely use them.
Yep. We have the permit and I really do look for then. I was surprised at them being in my truck when inwasnt even looking. Destroy them and report the exact location where found.

It's a great idea to kill any invasive species, but Pennsylvania saw this one as a means to collect even more money via the trucking industry.
These Commercial Vehicle ONLY required permits are $25 per power unit, per year. Think about how much that is for one carrier, then think about how many carriers roll through PA. Next, why is it only for commercial vehicles? Do the Spotted Lantern Flies only attach themselves to Big Rigs? Cars don't also cross state borders, entering and exiting the state? Where's all that money going? Permit stickers and a few pieces of paperwork? I have found very little information on the State's eradication efforts.
It's another money grab.
