Studying For Pre-Trip

As a CDL instructor, I can tell you to learn as much as you can. It will get you through schooling much easier. I usually get my students tested out and get their CDLs within 2 to 3 weeks. When people struggle or procrastinate, it wastes my time teaching backing and driving. They won't get to that one the exam if they can't pass the pretrip.
Make sure you are watching NEWER videos. The wording on the brake test has changed 4 times over the last several years. If you learn everything but the brakes, it may help you.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Hello ladies, I was hoping to get a little advice. I recently obtained my permit and decided to study the Pre-Trip checklists and guides on this website before applying to a program training. Would you all advise that I have the information completely learned before I go to school or maybe just a decent grasp on the information? I realize it would be ideal to completely have it locked down but that might take a minute. BTW this website is awesome!

Kearsey is right; but the other parts of Daniel B's pretrip can never really change much...the air brakes change as engines and technology does; the hoses, clamps, et al . . . still the same concept. Have you looked at ours? Mountain Matt printed this one (by Daniel B.) and had it put in a binder; huge success in Wilson's paid training, and now pulling tanks! Pre-trip Inspection:
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
