If you're out on the road during the holidays and or struggling around them, as I have in the past, just want to reach out to you.

Our emotional health is vitally important, many drivers wash out of this industry because the lifestyle is such a challenge.

That being said, some tools I've picked up over the years if you're feeling lonely and blue this time of year.

Make a gratitude list - Each day write down 3 to 5 things in your life you are grateful for, not material items, but people, principles and such. How do you show your gratitude?

Volunteer at a food bank, or similar. Have a few days off? You would be amazed at good it feels to brighten others lives, and you'll gain a sense of comraderie with others.

Reach out here, it can be particularly hard to post here for people, but just a simple post introducing yourself can be helpful and getting involved here can help take you out of your head.

Get off the truck when you can, explore the world around you. Check out points of interest, take some time for you and learn to relax. Over working can be a means of escape.

Consider a counselor or therapist, some folks suffer from depression around the holidays, it never hurts to get our emotional health into the shop for a tune up and gain tools.

Most of all, wishing you all a merry Christmas and my deepest gratitude for the community here.

Thanks to all you guys and gals out on the road this time of year! It’s a tough time for a lot of people but even more so for those on the road right now, especially those that might not make it home for the holidays. Appreciate all of you and be safe
