Happy 4th Steve!!
That's a lot of rain? Do the Phillipines have a monsoon season? I know a lot of places in that region get hit by typhoons. Have you experienced a typhoon yet?
Happy 4th to you and I hope you can get some nicer weather soon.
Weather is one of the first things I look up when traveling
As for CRST, that's not surprising. When it gets to the point of having to get courts involved to get reimbursed for training, somethings gotta give. I'm sure teaming had a lot to do with it. The team requirement kept me away from CRST and Pam.
The lease pushing in this economic phase is also not surprising. It makes them more competitive in the dry freight market.
Yes Real Diehl they have a lot of monsoon time here. Typhoons season too, but since I'm on a central island,(Cebu) it's more protected most of the time. Odet, which actually hit right here, where I'm living, 2 years ago, it tore some roofs off in it's path across the compound / mountain...
That's why I built a bottom half concrete house, with all steel framing, and screwed down metal galvanized panels....So in the event of another typhoon ever hitting here, this will probably be, the only house left standing lol...History shows, typhoons may hit this area every 20-30 years typically,(1990 & 1984) last 2. They follow a usual path, kinda like the US's "tornado alley".....Coming up from the south east in a northerly arch.
According to the site I found the stats at, it says April, is the dryest month LOL....It's sunny so far today, but it can change in a matter of minutes. Lately, a storm comes late afternoon/evening, past few days so far. Lasts about an hour or so. The thunder is SOOO LOUD, it sounds like its rolling right over the roof, and hard rain OMG it's deafening, some times it booms like a bomb went off, and rolls across the sky for quite some time....Ain't no pitter patter across the tin roof hahaha
Wow, man! Thanks for sharing that information. I'm glad you've built yourself such a sturdy home. Sounds like a good idea😉
Everybody wave "hi" to Steve...

Ok, few days ago I was talking to my mentor from CRST, really cool guy, he's been with them 8 years now, knows quite a bit as well. He was telling me, CRST is no longer training new drivers, and no longer contracts with the outside school A.S.D.....
Also that CRST is going more to solo driving, and lease op, to which they now are giving new lease op's newer trucks, not the 500,000 mile oldies, they used to. And they have plenty of 2024 model FL's sitting around their terminals, in Riverside, Cali. and their OKC terminal.
He said the Riverside Cali dorm room will be converted to offices, and they should be moving the Gardner company into the Riverside terminal as well. (since the land Gardners on in Chino is leased land) He also said the Riverside cafe inside the terminal is just about closed up, since there is no longer up to 100 students living in the dorms.
I guess they are consolidating operations a tad more......
And yep more rain here in Phil's haha, I searched and seems we have 92 inches of rain here per year ! dayyum thats just shy of 8 feet ! 2 days of rain here could solve Calif's drought for 6 months hahaha
Stay safe out there, and Happy 4th of July to ya'll
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
