I recentiy had a Rollover (My Fault). What are my chances of getting hired with another company, or a second chance Company?

Hello Dennis!

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. That is a tough one to keep from following you around like a dark cloud.

I'm going to shoot straight with you. I don't think you'll have a chance at getting hired onto a similar trucking job for at least three years. You can always try. I've seen stranger things happen. Sometimes you just happen upon the perfect situation and the employer gives you another shot. Just be prepared for a lot of rejections.

You might try scouring Craigslist for construction companies or excavation contractors who are hiring drivers. That's where I'd focus were I you.

We wish you the best!

It is said the a preventable rollover is a career “kiss of death. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen that you couldn’t find a company to give you another chance. As hard as that will definitely be. I know there are some company’s that if you’ve had a rollover you can’t apply for them till the rollover is five to ten years after the fact.

Unfortunately right now it seems it is slow and nobody is really hiring. The places that are hiring are being very selective because of that. It’s certainly possible you might be able to get on somewhere with a second chance company. You’re just going to have to apply a lot and hope for another shot sooner than later.

It’s possible. I had a friend who rolled a truck probably a year ago. He had a really really rough time finding another trucking gig but he eventually found another gig. If I remember correctly he’s actually even local. Don’t know much about his current gig or if he’s still working it because we stopped talking.
