I've recently been cooking meals in my truck and it's just been rice and meat so far. I use a metal bento box (oven and microwave safe) and a 12V lunchbox cooker. I have a setup in mind for cleaning dishes, but everything got delayed by Amazon (again), so I didn't have everything with me when I left. My fridge/freezer also got delayed and is sitting at my front door so I don't have that either 😐.

I also need to upgrade my top bunk storage. I want to have open top totes / bins that are color coded. I will keep all the heat sensitive / perishable items in one tote so I don't have to scavenge through my truck before I got off duty during the summer.

I just started cooking I’m the truck too! I bought an air fryer and I wish I’d gotten one forever ago. Soooooo easy and convenient and the cleanup is trivial. I’m no chef and even I can cook steaks, fried chicken, baked chicken, pork chops, etc with ease. I’ve been eating a ton healthier and the food is delicious

Pianoman, I’m also in TN tonight, just west of ****son at a rest area on 40.

Headed to Houston in the AM. Where are you going?

After I get parked today, I'll post some pictures of my setup. I haven't forgotten about the ICECO pictures, either.

This is my current arrangement in my 2023 KW T680.

The ICECO VL45 freezer/fridge I use strictly as a freezer. It has a 5 year warranty on the compressor, and has been running as new for more than 3 years so far. Expensive when I bought it at more than $550, but a wise investment. It stands close to 21" in height.

The stand-alone fridge is a DANBY that I've had for more than 4 years from Amazon. It stands nearly 33" in height, so it will not fit in the upper bunk in some trucks, specifically the newer Cascadia that have a ladder for the upper bunk.

The red and yellow totes were pilfered from truck stops. Sturdy, stackable, and they hold a lot of miscellaneous items.

The smallest clear tote I got at a yard sale a decade ago. All my extreme cold weather gear is kept in there.

Hey!! I've got one of those which also doubles as a vacuum sometimes 😉😁😂🤣

Laura

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

PackRat, how do you manage the AC power distribution on your truck for all the AC units you have? I assume you have the standard inverter. 1800 watts? With my inverter I can only use one appliance at a time or I’ll trip the breaker. How do you route your cords and switch over from the freezer to other things as needed?

Freezer and fridge always stay plugged in. Any time I'm using the appliances (hot plate, electric skillet, microwave), it's one at a time, and the truck is started up. The built-in fridge and my Coleman cooler are always plugged in, too. The inverter that came with this truck is rated at 2000 watts.
