I'm not looking forward to this Monday.

I drive a dedicated route. Monday morning I leave from a little north of Indianapolis and head to Nashville. I usually get to Nashville about 11:00, unload the rest of my trailer, and then head about an hour south to pick up a load of rough cut lumber. From there, I head back north to Kuttawa, KY where I park it for the night.

Under normal circumstances, I'd be going back through Nashville at around 14:30.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Harvey says:

“I'm 66 and this may very well my last chance to see a solar eclipse during my lifetime (at least here in the continental U.S.)”

Next eclipse is Aug 23, 2044. Harvey, you will only be 86! You can come over to my nursing home to watch it with me. You bring the beer.

I'll be 87 by then! (birthday in July) :) The following year has a much bigger audience area Eclipse paths 2041-2050

But I might try catching one in 2026 crossing mainland Portugal or perhaps catch a 50 mile boat ride heading north of our Madeira, Portugal vacation home in 2027. Come join me, I'll bring the beer, wind, and poncha!

Stay safe everyone!

I’m kinda sad I’ll miss it. I’m in PA right now but I should be in Utah or Idaho by the time of the eclipse
